As the trade deficit in Turkey is breaking new records every year, I thought I’d gather up the data and present the import, export and trade deficit statistics of Turkey since 1923.

As you can see, despite a steadily increasing export rate, the trade deficit has been increasing since the imports have been increasing as well, resulting in a trade deficit of 43 Billion dollars in 2005. (73 billion dollar exports, 116 billion dollar imports).
